I have had the pleasure of working with Vidya since 2005. As president of Solar Publishing, I was in search of an illustrator and partner who could capture the essence of my characters as well as contribute to the growth of my company by creating images and accompanying me to school events and books shows.
In addition to being consistently pleasant, Vidya has been a joy to work with.
It was truly a pleasure to work with Vidya! Her unique talent for connecting with and revealing the thoughts and personalities of my book’s characters, was immediately evident. My feedback was always met with an intuitive understanding and her responses were consistently on point. Her professionalism, timeliness, and attention to detail, rendered a process, that could have felt long and arduous, fluid and seamless.
Vidya’s invaluable insight and artful whims brought the story to life in a way that truly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be seeking out her illustration services again for my future works.
Vidya was such a joy to work with. I could not quite pin point some of my visions for my children's picture book because the book wasn't about an adventurous dinosaur or chicken. It was about names. She read the book and immediately connected with its mission. She ran with my ideas and helped me create other inspirational spreads. Vidya made a first time author's journey seamless and I cannot thank her enough.
Vidya was my first experience ever working with an illustrator and I must say I believe I got lucky! Apart from being so sweet and kind, she was so easy to work with. Nothing ever felt awkward and she worked so hard to bring my story to life. You hear of all these horror stories of artists who can be a pain to work with, but Vidya was so personable and made the process for me a fun one!
In publishing my first book and not knowing what to expect, Vidya did an amazing job bringing my story to life. The process was long and arduous and she was patient and accommodating every step of the way. She believed in my project and understood how important it was to me to get it just right. My Snurkey evolved throughout the process and I just love him. Not only did I get my book illustrated but I also made a friend for life. Vidya is a joy to know, so don't miss out on meeting this great illustrator.
The experience of working with Vidya was as rewarding as writing the story she illustrated. Her tenderness and talent made the children and Ms. Shanaaz come alive. She captured the humor and behavior of small learners appreciating their world. She mingled the diversity and details necessary for a realistic environment. And all this without even hearing her voice! We communicated totally through text, scratchy drawings (on my part) and her wonderful imagination. She is a true artist in every way. She brought life to a lifetime dream. Thank you forever.
Vidya’s work on our family’s first children’s book “Reign and Her Magical Hair Beads: Gardening Day” was the best experience ever! Vidya’s professionalism, work ethic, pleasant attitude and kind demeanor made her an instant addition to this family project. Vidya’s attention to detail brought my self-written poem about my 4 year old granddaughter Reign, and her love for hair beads to life. Her resourcefulness and willingness to share resources were appreciated and invaluable. We can’t thank Vidya enough for making this journey for our family so much easier and a great experience! We would certainly work with her again. Yolanda H.
Vidya's artistic ability to capture all different ethnicities in her drawings caught my eye right away as I was searching for an illustrator on a freelance web site. Her images are so realistic and imaginative at the same time. She instantly took my words for my first children's book and nailed the concept on her first try. She is an amazing artist and lady. She has a great work ethic and is so easy to work with. Though we've never met face to face she has become dear to my heart. She is worth every penny and bribgs out the best of any author's work, even inexperienced ones like me. I am forever blessed to have found her.
